Important Information for International Participants
For most participants from abroad, there is no requirement to obtain prior approval or security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs in India to attend a conference/seminar/workshop in the country. However, if you fall into either of the following two categories, the organizers will need to approach the Ministry for a grant of security clearance:
1) If you are from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, are of Pakistani origin, or are a stateless person; or
2) If the event you are attending will involve visiting 'Restricted' or 'Protected' areas in India affected by terrorism, militancy and extremism, such as Jammu & Kashmir and the North Eastern States (except Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland).
Please let us know if either of the aforementioned conditions applies to you.
The communication provided to the German Embassy by the Ministry of Home Affairs is provided below for your immediate reference: View the Official Communication here.
