Ambassador Romana Vlahutin is a Distinguished Fellow for Geostrategy at the German Marshal Fund, covering issues related to allied competitiveness, North South connectivity, G7 strategic infrastructure initiative and geopolitical aspects of strategic infrastructure, EU relations with Indo Pacific and EU foreign and security policy in general. Ambassador Vlahutin has most recently served as the EU Special Envoy for Connectivity in the European External Action Service, where she spearheaded the EU global connectivity strategy and was a chief negotiator for the EU-Japan and EU- India Connectivity Partnerships. Prior to that she served as the EU Ambassador to Albania, Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Croatia, a senior diplomat in Croatian embassies in Washington and Belgrade and the Director for Strategic Analysis and Policy Planning. Ambassador Vlahutin holds a BA degree from Zagreb University and MPA degree from Harvard University, JFKennedy School of Government. She is a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations.
